Incident Commanders, or other firefighters eligible to perform that role, will learn how to make better decisions that result in:
- Safer, more effective local hazard zone procedures
- System-wide accountability among all personnel and local response agencies
- A reduction in the number of firefighter injuries and death
- A decrease in other unnecessary losses
- Standardized IMS curriculum
At less than $6 per training hour, the Blue Card program makes it possible for departments to deliver the training in-house and for individuals to take it at a time and location that is convenient to them.
To receive Blue Card Command Officers certification, which is valid for three years, students must complete an online training component as well as an evaluation and testing component.
